My Story
Hi, I’m Ashlyn. I grew up in Atlanta, far from the sea, but everything changed when I visited the Georgia Aquarium at eight years old. That one visit sparked a lifelong love for the ocean. As soon as I could drive, I started volunteering with the whale shark and manta ray care team and never looked back.
I moved to Miami to study Environmental Sustainability at Florida International University, where I earned my degree and became a PADI Dive Master. Diving and underwater photography quickly became my favorite way to connect with the ocean and share its beauty with others.
After graduating, I moved to Maui to become a scuba instructor. I explored the Hawaiian Islands, dove with incredible marine life found only there, and fell in love with sailing and the underwater world all over again.
Now I’m living in Key Largo, Florida, working full time as a Master Scuba Diving Instructor. When I’m not teaching, I’m behind the camera photographing the vibrant marine life of the Florida Keys. I plan to grow my portfolio with unique shots of both wildlife and people, capturing powerful moments that spark emotion and remind us how deeply connected we are to the ocean. It is the heart of our planet, and protecting it is essential to all life.
